Research common garage complaints and scams and make sure we never expose a customer to any of these; create a unique code of conduct and offer a fresh approach. Make sure all our colleagues are trained so we are professional, transparent, trustworthy, and above all else, honest.
Continue to invest and equip the Garage with the latest and best equipment so we can do the job professionally and efficiently.
Build a team of colleagues that are the best in their field, continue to train them, and reward them based on customer satisfaction and repeat business.
Get rid of the jargon and complicated language, never patronise, explain what we are doing and why; always listen and never pressure a customer into a decision. Treat every customer whether they be female, male, young, or old with the same respect, remembering no question is ever a stupid question.
Remove inconvenience as much as we can by collecting and delivering vehicles throughout the day, if the customer needs to visit The Garage, make them comfortable in a private area with free drinks, WiFi, and comfortable seating.
Write everything down so the customer can check on quotes and ring around if required, detail all the work done in our invoices, line item every cost so nothing is hidden.
Price fairly; The Garage Howden will likely never be the cheapest in the area, our hourly rates are based on an honest and true representation of our skills and level of equipment (one common garage scam noted in our research was to charge a low rate and take twice as long to do the job).
Become accredited and audited by major institutions, such as the RAC and DVSA; this makes sure our standards are always maintained every week, every month, and every year.
Fit quality OEM parts, oils, and fluids that can be warranted and stand by that warranty if a problem occurs.
Sort out the problem. It’s a fact we will make mistakes, but we never shy away from our responsibilities. If you are happy with the service then tell everyone, if you have a concern then tell a colleague and they will escalate this to the owners, any problem (large or small) is never ignored, and you can be assured that we will resolve it to the best of our ability.
